The Semiconductors

Posted by trendsman on Thursday, January 11th, 2007

For the most part our picks and portfolio is constructed with commodities. However, their are other opportunities that are worthy of our attention. Water is one. Today, the semiconductors are a good opportunity. The semis have underperformed the broad market but they appear ready for a big breakout- and one that could propel the indices much higher. These charts are of “SMH” the ETF for the sector. First, the daily chart. There are a number of positive things, each of which I outlined in the chart.

Longer term, the semis could be headed for a big breakout. I think there is a good shot of 50% plus gains here in 2007.
